Welchman Keen is pleased to welcome João Araujo as Senior Manager for Connectivity and Innovation. João brings over two decades of specialised experience in FTTH network strategies and mobile networks – crucial expertise for addressing complex telecommunications challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

Addressing Connectivity Challenges in LAC

The LAC region presents unique obstacles such as fragmented infrastructure, diverse regulatory environments, and limited high-speed connectivity in rural and underserved areas. João’s extensive background in Cellular Network Engineering with major Brazilian Tier-1 carriers, combined with his FTTH/GPON proficiency, enables him to design and implement tailored network solutions that meet these regional demands. His deep knowledge of spectrum regulation and regional policies further ensures compliance and strategic alignment, facilitating efficient project delivery and long-term viability.

Driving Commercial Growth and Infrastructure Optimisation Across LAC

João has a proven record of driving commercial growth by optimising telecommunications infrastructure in the LAC region. His leadership in digital transformation projects and FTTH network deployment has empowered Latin American Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to expand their coverage and enhance service quality. Through expert contract negotiation and technical consultancy, João maximises infrastructure investments, ensuring operational efficiency and sustainable returns.

João joins an exceptional team of regional experts, including Victor Martinez, Gustavo Javier Fernandez, Diana Gomez and Laura Fuentes Cedeño. We look forward to further advancements in enabling meaningful connectivity in LAC.
