Istvan is a seasoned telecommunication specialist with over two decades of experience in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Istvan’s expertise in frequency management and vast professional experience will be an asset to Welchman Keen’s government and industry clients. As the former Head of ITU’s Telecommunication Network and Spectrum Management Division, Istvan is experienced in providing strategic guidance to countries seeking to advance their telecommunication systems and infrastructure. Through his years of spectrum management systems masterplans and assessments, and capacity building with a range of stakeholders, Istvan is highly aware of the needs and concerns of developing countries pursuing digital transformation. Industry players seeking access to developing markets will also benefit from Istvan’s understanding of market and regulatory shifts in developing countries, as well as the potential challenges and opportunities. This, coupled with his extensive international experience and network, will enhance Welchman Keen’s market access services, thereby facilitating efficient engagements between telecommunication industry players, governments, and local communities.
